Palm oil is a crop and found mainly in Maylasia and Indonisia.It's used in many foods and products in the devoloped world. It causes deforestation and destroys primates habitat especially the orangutans. WHY IS IT SO POPULAR?
Palm oil may be found in some crisps,chocolate,butter,aunt bessies roast potatoes,haribos,crunchy nut clusters,mars bars,cookies,crackers, popcorn,pizza,frozen dinners,breads,kit kats,low-fat diary,soap maltesers and cosmetics.
This year planting season has began. In Green Girls we have started planting Tulips for the spring. Hopefully ,they will soon grow into beautiful flowers. This was a special event with the lower school joining in. All the lower school girls were paired up with one or two older girls. The process started with filling the bottom of a flower pot with a couple of rocks to allow the water to soak through up the water. Then you would add the soil and place the tulip bulbs in a shallow hole. Remember if you do this excellent Green idea at home ,try not to get messy! From the Green Girls.
